چکیده

Introduction: In collaboration with the Department of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology, our study aims to review outcomes propose an improved workflow for management patients prior hypersensitivity reactions iodinated contrast media (ICM). Method: Outpatients coming contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) were stratified into 3 categories (definite, unconfirmed inaccurate) based on likelihood their label. Patients could be offered a different ICM, receive same or referred allergist further evaluation. There 4 outcomes: (1) alternative ICM tolerated; (2) tolerated again; (3) patient developed reaction either original ICM; (4) CECT was deferred until assessment by allergist. Comparison made pre- post-intervention see if improved. Results: 132 who total 154 visits (90.3% had documented hypersensitivity). Post-intervention, number postponed premedication decreased (81.0% 34.7%). reduction in (from 42.9% 14.3%). Of 12 assessed allergist, 6 continue using advised abstain from administration 2 pending testing third agent. Conclusion: Active intervention radiologist can decrease postponed, converted cancelled studies as well reduce adverse allergic-like events. Direct between specific cases may helpful will likely need future/repeated CECTs. Keywords: Corticosteroid, hypersensitivity, media, premedication, skin

Design of Small Animal Computed Tomography Imaging for in vitro and in vivo Studies

Introduction: Mini Computed Tomography (mini-CT) was suggested in biomedical research to investigate tissues and small animals. We present designed and built a mini x-ray computed tomography (mini-CT) for small animals as well as industrial component imaging. Materials and Methods: The system used in this study includes a X-ray tube 20kV to 160kV and a flat pa...

Artifacts of Titanium, Zirconium, and Binary Titanium-Zirconium Abutments in Compute Tomography, Cone Beam Computed Tomography, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Aim: The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate imaging artifacts induced by Titanium, Zirconium, Titanium-Zirconium abutments in CT, MRI and CBCT imaging modalities. Methods: A 4×8mm titanium fixture was inserted in a dry human mandible. Titanium, Zirconium and Titanium–Zirconium abutments measuring 10.5 mm in height are located on the fixture, one by one. Each abutment was scan...

Contrast-enhanced cranial computed tomography in magnetic resonance imaging era.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the usefulness of intravenous contrast administration in cranial computed tomography (CT) in a general hospital with a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) facility, and to establish a protocol to determine which patients would benefit most from using contrast-enhanced cranial CT. SUBJECTS AND METHODS Five hundred and forty-seven patients who underwent routine nonenhanced CT...
